You must use extreme caution when selecting a hired immigration representative. Unfortunately, there are numerous con artists that prey on unsuspecting newcomers.


The majority of these frauds are perpetrated online, but they may also be found in newspaper advertising, leaflets, and, in some cases, policemen who look trustworthy.


Because these unethical people make such enticing claims, you should be aware of the following tell-tale indicators of an immigration fraudster or scammer:


* Ensure that your application is accepted:


No one can promise you that. Only Canadian government personnel at embassies, high commissions, and consulates have the authority to approve or reject your application, and even they cannot promise anything until your case is processed.


* Make a time commitment:


"By July, I'll be living and working in Canada!" Be wary of such assertions. A consultant or agent has no control over how quickly your application is handled.


Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has provided some basic time estimates, but even these are not guaranteed.


* Guarantee that you will not need the following documents:


"No background checks or medical tests are necessary!" There isn't anything like it. All candidates over the age of 18 must present a criminal background check or a police certificate, as well as pass a medical test.


* Create the impression that they have unique "connections" with embassies and consulates:


No one has privileged access, and such a claim is completely incorrect.
