DETAILS ON AUSTRALIA SUBCLASS 489 EXTENDED PATHWAY AND SUBSEQUENT FAMILY ENTRANTS VISA

Visa Type 489 (Extended Pathway and Subsequent Family Entrants)

This visa is accessible to candidates who have previously held any of the following visa subclasses:

Skilled - Independent Regional, Subclass 495 Skilled - Designated Area Sponsored, Subclass 496
c. Skilled – Regionally Sponsored, Subclass 475 d. Skilled – Regionally Sponsored, Subclass 487
If holders of one of the aforementioned professional visas are unable to satisfy the conditions for a permanent visa at the conclusion of their three-year provisional visa term, they may apply for an Extended Pathway Stream of subclass 489 Visa.

This will enable them to remain for an additional four years from the date of their initial provisional visa award. To be eligible, applicants must have fulfilled all of the terms of their prior visas.

For members of a family unit of subclass 489 visa holders, a Subsequent Family Entrance Pathway is available.
• The family member, such as a partner or spouse, of the original subclass 489 visa holder who intends to join the family in Australia will be the principal applicant for a Subsequent Entry Pathway subclass 489 Visa.

You must establish your own Immi account.
