INFORMATION ON US VISA REJECTION

By Dr. D K Sharma, 2017 & 2018, A Comprehensive Guide To The US Student Visa,

Visa refused!!! Unfortunately, this is true. Many honest and industrious students may have their visa applications refused.

Is the world coming to an end? No

What should I do next?

Don't be alarmed; it's not the end of the world. The author has observed persons who had successful US immigration interviews one time and then fail and have their visas rejected the next. The goal is to determine what caused the visa refusal, then make the required changes and adequately prepare for the next interview.

The first step is to comprehend the context.

Keep in mind that if you have one visa refusal, it may significantly increase your chances of receiving another. I suppose there is also a human element to the situation. When the next Officer sees your file and reads about the previous rejection, they are already concerned. Overturning the prior officer's judgement and issuing a visa may provide a more difficult task or pose a bigger risk to the next visa officer than probable denying the application again. However, even after a first denial, some individuals have been successful on their second try at acquiring a visa. Only a few individuals got their visas on their third or fourth try. As a result, there is no magic cut-off figure. Remember, the goal is to demonstrate to the officer that your circumstances have altered since your prior visa refusal, and then you could get fortunate with your US visa.

Step number two: Reconsider the cause for a visa refusal.

Reconsider the factors that may have contributed to your rejection. There are various factors at your end that may need some effort.

Simple questions such as: Were you nervous? Were you attentive enough to answer the question correctly? Did you say too much? Did you try to conceal anything and be caught? Or, maybe, something you said piqued the officer's interest? Was the university you selected to study at a shady one? Were your financial documentation insufficient or poorly prepared? Did you forget to bring any important papers to back up your case?

Were your ties to your country severed, or were they portrayed as strained? Making a tenuous connection to your native nation is a definite way to get rejected.

Did you get a scholarship from the university where you planned to study? Which university do you plan to attend? Some universities have a murky past, have been accused of fraud, and are now under investigation. Any application to one of these colleges would cause the visa officer to raise a red flag.
If a person has strong ties to religious institutions or organisations, especially if they are a little "fanatic," or if they were involved in a political or military conflict, chemical warfare, or genocide, or if they are involved in prostitution, drug trafficking, or economic offences, they may have a more difficult time obtaining a student visa in the United States.
